Activated nuts are more nutritious nuts because they have been soaked and then dehydrated. This process allows any enzyme inhibitors to be released, preventing digestive problems and making them the perfect snack in between meals.

Stress… Reality vs. Perception

Stress is such as broadly used term these days. We hear of stress management, stressed out, biological stress, environmental stress, post traumatic stress. Hans Selye a scientist and pioneer of stress wrote of stress theory back in the early 1930’s. Interestingly the introduction of this term coincided with the Great Depression.

The Power of Breathing

Breathing. Sounds pretty simple, a no brainer. But did you know that a lot of people don’t breathe correctly? To test your breathing take a look at a child around 2 and see how they are breathing. You’ll notice that their stomach expands as they breath in and that the movement goes from the stomach up to the lungs. Now look at how you breathe. Does your breath go down to your stomach or does it finish at your chest?

The spot reduction myth

As a personal trainer, i can’t count the number of times a client has asked me “How do i lose weight from my stomach/thighs/arms/butt?”.Unfortunately, there is no such thing as ‘spot reduction’ – you can’t choose the area of the body from which you will lose fat.

Are you grounded in your body or your head?

Most people if they were honest would probably say their head. You know when you’re in your head when you think too much, can’t sleep as you are thinking and suffer from analysis paralysis. You can also tell if you are in your head if life lacks that fullness and luster that you have experienced before.
