Tamari Mushroom & Beef Stir-Fry Recipe
Spare your wallet and your health by avoiding packaged stir-fry sauces at all costs. These “convenience foods” are devoid of nutrition and almost al-ways filled with questionable additives and refined ingredients, despite any “100 per cent preservative-free” claims. It’s also very easy to make your own with wholefood ingredients. This recipe is wonderful served over lentils or brown rice.

Tamari Mushroom & Beef Stir-Fry Recipe
This quick and easy tamari mushroom and beef stir-fry recipe is wonderful served with lentils or brown rice and makes for the perfect mid-week dinner.

Ingredients
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tsp grated ginger
- 1 green capsicum, finely sliced
- 1 red capsicum, finely sliced
- 70g mushrooms, sliced
- 400g lean beef fillet, cut into strips
- Splash tamari
- Chilli flakes, to taste
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- Handful coriander leaves, to serve
- 4 cups cooked lentils or brown rice, to serve
Method
- Heat the sesame oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic and ginger and cook for 2 mins.
- Add the capsicums, mushroom, beef, tamari, chilli and lime juice, then cook, stirring frequently, for 3–4 minutes, or until the beef is browned to your liking.
- Serve topped with the coriander on a bed of cooked lentils or brown rice.
