Similar to the Asian snack ikan bilis, these nuts are absolutely and undeniably delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups almonds
  • 2 × 45g tins sardines, chopped
  • 8 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp Celtic sea salt
  • 6 drops stevia liquid
  • 2 tbsp grated lime zest, plus extra for serving

Method


  • Soak almonds in 750mL filtered warm water overnight (optional).
  • Preheat oven to 200°C.
  • Place all ingredients, except lime zest, in a bowl and stir to combine.
  • Place almond mixture on baking tray and sprinkle with lime zest.
  • Cook in oven for 25 mins, stirring after 15 mins.
  • Remove from oven, transfer to bowl and serve sprinkled with additional lime zest, if desired.
  • The seanuts will keep for 5–7 days in an airtight container.
