Recipe

Ingredients

  • 150g butter or coconut oil, melted
  • 170g rice-malt syrup or honey
  • 30g cacao
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 130g rolled oats or rolled quinoa
  • 230g raw nuts and/or seeds (walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds)
  • 1 tbsp ground chia or flax seeds
  • 100g desiccated coconut

Method

  • In a small pot, combine the butter or coconut oil, sweetener, cacao and cinnamon over low heat. Stir until combined.
  • For a tastier slice, stir the oats, nuts, seeds and coconut in a large pan over low heat for 5-10 mins, or simply combine the raw ingredients. Once toasted, allow to cool.
  • Quickly pulse in a food processor. Add the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  • Using a big wet serving spoon, press mixture firmly into a small, lined slice tin.
  • Set in the freezer for 10 mins. Remove from the tin and cut into slices. Serve.
