Danish-Inspired Skyr Breakfast Bowl
A creamy, protein-rich bowl that’s perfect to start your day with balance and freshness. Skyr is a traditional Icelandic cultured dairy product. It has the consistency of strained yoghurt but a much milder flavour profile.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Skyr (or plain Greek yoghurt)
- ¼ cup granola
- ½ apple, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup fresh berries (I use blueberries, raspberries and strawberries)
- 1 tbsp chopped hazelnuts or almonds
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp flaxseeds
- ½ tsp honey
- Pinch of cinnamon
Method
- Spoon the Skyr into a bowl and smooth it out.
- Layer on the toppings. Sprinkle granola evenly over the top. Arrange the apple slices and berries decoratively. Add nuts and seeds for added texture and nutrition.
- Drizzle a small amount of honey and dust with a pinch of cinnamon.
- Enjoy immediately for a refreshing and energy-boosting start to the day!
