Ingredients

  • 400g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 500g butter, cut into cubes
  • 2½ cups brown sugar
  • 8 eggs
  • ¾ cups cocoa, sifted
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cups cherries, pitted

Method


  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Place chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl and melt in a microwave or over a saucepan with simmering water.
  • Place brown sugar, eggs, cocoa and baking powder in a large bowl, add chocolate and stir to combine.
  • Pour batter into a 34cm x 23cm baking dish lined with baking paper and place cherries on top, pushing them into the batter slightly.
  • Bake for 40 mins or until set.
  • Tip: You can use half dark chocolate and half milk chocolate if you prefer milk over dark.
