Reiki and what it can do for me

Reiki is a spiritual practice using the energy in our bodies to bring about healing. We learn in school that everything is made of energy. Energy is equal to mass, multiplied by the speed of light. This means that all matter is really energy made up of atoms and molecules. These are moving at different speeds. These are either solids, liquids or gases.

What we see in an object is actually the frequency of the oscillation. Even the most solid appearing object is made up of millions of these molecules, all moving fast and close together that makes them appears as solid to our eyes and other senses. This frequency however is like tuning in to a radio channel. Our limited basic five senses can only perceive a few of these vibrations. Science tells us that there are frequencies infinitely beyond what we can perceive.

Our bodies are the same, made up of energy vibrating at a particular frequency. This is why we are able to manipulate and channel our bio magnetic fields, which we all know as our own specific field.  Also, all thought is energy and can create a positive or negative effect based on the intention. What this means is that if we think or consume something with negative intention or energetic vibration, it creates a negative response in us. The negative response creates dis-ease within our bodies which we can heal.

How does Reiki work?

Our bodies have tubes made up of collagen which are filled with a very fine fluid called the myofascial system linking all parts of the body. These tubes carries signals in the form of little electrical light impulses called biophotons which allow all our cells to communicate with one another.

Biophotons under a microscope change shape. These shapes resemble symbols found throughout ancient culture and religions. Energy carrying information moves through our electromagnetic fields and our physical body. This energy vibrates at different speeds that our five senses can’t pick it up. The myofascial system has seven major points where there is more fascia than in other areas. This aligns to the seven main energy centres in our bodies known as chakras. In these areas there are more biophotons which create larger energy hot spots. Reiki practitioners concentrate in these areas the most.

What are the seven Chakras?

  1. The root chakra, this is located at the base of your spine. It can control things like your financial independence.
  2. The sacral Chakra, this is located in your lower abdomen. It controls your sense of abundance your well-being your pleasure, and your sexuality.
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra, is located in your upper abdomen. It controls your Self-worth, your self-confidence, and your self-esteem. It is your emotional centre.
  4. Heart Chakra, This is towards the centre of your chest and controls love, joy and your inner peace – your positive and ‘heartfelt’ emotions.
  5. Throat Chakra, is located in your throat and helps with your communication, self-expression, and truth.
  6. The Third Eye Chakra, is on your forehead between your eyes. It controls your intuition, your imagination, and your wisdom.
  7. The Crown Chakra, is on the very top of your head and controls both your Inner and outer beauty, and your spiritual connections.

Different colours, crystals and elements are associated with all these chakras. You can use these to balance your chakras.

Reiki Practitioners

Reiki practitioners should have gone through the proper attunements with a Reiki Master. It is also a good idea for them to practice meditation and self Reiki regularly. This gives them a connection to higher frequencies allowing them to channel energy through their own electromagnetic field. This energy then channels through the crown chakra, into their heart, down the arms and out their hands into the electromagnetic field and physical body of the person needing the healing. They connect to higher frequencies of conscious energy, use loving intention and positive thoughts to heal and cleanse. The energy automatically goes where it is needed.

Recent scientific studies are fast recognising reiki as a viable form of treatment in conjunction with mainstream treatments. Everyone can use reiki as a form of treatment no matter your beliefs. The important thing to know is that it works regardless, whether you take a scientific or a spiritual view and it will help you heal.
