Solar Springs

Retreat to Solar Springs

Do you ever feel like you want the world to stop for a few days so you can get off, relax and re-group, ready to face life again? How about a couple of days or more to enjoy some “me” time, eat some good food, breathe fresh country air and maybe get a massage or two? Well look no further than Solar Springs Retreat.

Solar Springs is tucked away in the picturesque township of Bundanoon in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW. The retreat overlooks the spectacular gullies of the Morton National Park and is only a short stroll from the main street.

Solar Springs is truly a designer holiday: you decide how much or how little you do.

There is a fantastic program of activities designed to make the most of the unique environment and setting. Bushwalking, cycling, tennis and archery are just some of the outdoor pursuits, while classes in the equipped gym progress from yoga and Pilates to vigorous power bar and boxing circuits. Take one of the meditation classes to help refocus, relax and quieten the mind.

The 25-metre indoor heated swimming pool opens onto a secluded deck, and action in the pool includes lap swimming, pool volleyball and aqua aerobics. The spa provides a safe haven for the less adventurous, with spectacular views over the national park.

Everyone deserves to be pampered and there is an extensive range of Beauty and massage therapies on offer at the retreat, including facials and body wraps to revitalise the body, and baths, aromatherapy and massages to soothe the soul.

The Solar Springs signature treatment is the rejuvenating Lithos (ancient Greek for “rock”), which is based on the simultaneous use of thermotherapy (heated) and cryotherapy (chilled) techniques. Heat released from the black rocks works in a similar way to ultrasound, while the chilled white rocks soothe and heal using the same principles as ice therapy.

Naturopaths, a life coach and fitness consultants are on hand to help guests who have specific health issues or just want to achieve optimum health and fitness.

“Our range of packages is designed to refresh, reconnect, reward and reboot the mind and body.”

Solar Springs provides the perfect getaway for those in need of rest and pampering, says events coordinator Fiona Razavet. “Our range of packages is designed to refresh, reconnect, reward and reboot the mind and body.” Guests leave Solar Springs feeling rejuvenated and relaxed, she says, but also “equipped with the tools to continue a healthy lifestyle at home”.

A visit to the naturopath will offer an opportunity to discover the path of wellbeing for you. Naturopathy looks at health from a holistic point of view and considers the impact to a patient’s wellbeing of circumstance and environment, inherited characteristics and trends, and attitudes and emotions.

Iridology is included in your naturopathic consultation to provide a clear insight into your health. Solar Springs also offers a Haemaview live blood screening and bioimpedance analysis to indicate how you’re coping with the demands of living in today’s modern world.

Improve your life with the help of the trained and experienced counsellor and life coach, based onsite. The life coach at Solar Springs will help you develop an action plan to create a more empowering future, teach you simple and effective relaxation techniques, help you improve your memory or teach you techniques to feel better about yourself on a consistent basis.

The health and fitness team is well equipped to motivate and educate you to reach your fitness potential, through physical health assessments and personal training sessions. They will pinpoint the areas of your health and fitness that need to improve for a long, happy and healthy life.

Solar Springs’ restaurant specialises in healthy, delicious cuisine served in a unique setting with stunning views of Morton National Park. For many years, Solar Springs has been aiding guests to reassess their health and make sustainable life changes. As food is an integral part of this journey, it makes sense for the restaurant to be a vital ingredient in this recipe for rejuvenation.

Inspired by his grandmother, chef François has the utmost respect for good produce and modern techniques that maximise flavour. François adds his unique artistic flair to every dish and creates mouth-watering dishes to suit every palate. Healthy and nourishing meals such as roasted beef sirloin, zucchini bread and rhubarb and apple crumble are served and enjoyed with views of the beautiful and tranquil national park. François is supported in the kitchen by Stephanie, who has the same passion for providing guests with quality tasty cuisine, and specialises in creating the yummy afternoon treats.
