The Loft in the Mill is located opposite Olinda Village in the tree-clad hills of the Dandenong Ranges, just one hour from Melbourne CBD and one-and-a-half hours from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport. The experience
The Loft in the Mill consists of two magnificent buildings: The Mill and The Carriage House.
The Mill
The Mill is a replica of a 19th-century English flour mill and contains three luxurious floors of varying sizes and shapes with unique decor in each space. The spaces include The Loft Suite, The Hathaway Suite, The King Arthur Suite, The Duchess’ Quarters, and the Herb Garden Suite. There are six private entrances and features include ensuite bathrooms, double spas, log fires and private courtyards.
The Carriage House
The Carriage House is a three-bedroom, two-storey bluestone building situated at the rear of The Loft in the Mill property. It is modelled on a 19th-century stage coach stop and has a 30-square space, three generous-size bedrooms, log fire and gas heating, full kitchen and dining facilities, a dining table to seat 10, lounge and double spa. The Carriage House is a great option for family reunions, several couples getting away together, or even small conferences of up to 12 people.
The Garden of Eden
There is a beautifully crafted tranquil garden in the rear of the property surrounded by sculptured gardens beds, handcrafted stone walls and a backdrop of seasonal colours and forest greens. Here, you can relax and enjoy the sound of beautiful birdsong and the fresh, crisp, clean mountain air while you lounge on signature rattan outdoor furniture.

The Loft in the Mill provides massage services by highly qualified therapists. You can relax and enjoy your massage in the comfort of your own room, choosing from a range of styles including a luxurious relaxation massage, remedial, aromatherapy, pregnancy or couple’s massage.
A selection of activities such as wine tours, hot-air ballooning and tours of the Dandenong Ranges can also be arranged using carefully selected operators.

Complimentary light breakfast provisions are available in your room upon arrival, including bread, jam, cereal, juice, milk and a selection of tea and coffee. Cooked breakfast vouchers can be purchased from reception.
For dinner and lunch, there are 16 restaurants within a 2km radius of the property, which have combined with The Loft in the Mill to provide specials for you to enjoy during your stay. All restaurant bookings must be made through the reception desk in order to receive the specials available.
Getting there
Melbourne to the Dandenong Ranges
From Melbourne, travel along the Eastern Freeway, continue onto the EastLink tollway, exit at the Burwood Highway, follow the road to Upper Ferntree Gully, or exit at Canterbury Road, Ringwood, and follow the road to Montrose. At Montrose, turn right at the roundabout and follow the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road to Olinda.
Travel by metro train to Lilydale or Belgrave. A daily bus service runs between towns and villages.
Melbourne Airport to the Dandenong Ranges
From Melbourne Airport, take route 43, exit onto the Eastern Freeway and proceed as above.
Things to remember
Preferred check-in time is 2pm and check out is 11am. Reception is open daily from 10am-6pm and 7pm on Friday. On occasions when you are checking in late, individual arrangements can be made to suit your travel plans.
