The facilities

Aurora Spa spans two levels. The first is reception and the ASPAR boutique, which features a pristine water wall creating an instant calming effect on arrival. A curved staircase then leads you to the heart of the spa. Here, there are spacious, separate female and male change and shower room areas, where a white robe and slippers await. Before your treatment begins, a Relax Spa tea is offered, and there are inspirational books to browse through as well as beautiful ASPAR products to try. Before and after your treatment, you can enjoy gazing at the Melbourne skyline while in the sanctuary of the chill-out room.

The treatments

All treatments at Aurora Spa utilise a combination of results-focused techniques, age-old wisdom and spa expertise, combined with powerful and effective botanically active formulations that address skin, body and lifestyle concerns and allow you to relax and revive.

The Aurora Spa therapeutic treatment menu includes signature steam treatments, advanced facials, body massage and hands and feet treatments, as well as spa retreat packages of two hours or more. All treatments use botanically active products that work in harmony with your body and allow you to relax and unwind.

Aurora Spa offers visitors a place to relax and unwind and is a retreat for the senses.

Perhaps the most famous and popular treatment offered is the award-winning Kitya Karnu steam room treatment — a deeply relaxing, total body experience in your own private steam room. Aromatic ASPAR body oils and pure mineral salts are applied for a full-body exfoliation, followed by a massaging application of rich and creamy Wattleseed & Walnut Resurfacing body scrub. ASPAR’s Olive Leaf Replenishing hair mask is applied along with a hydrating facial cleanse and mask. A cool river stone ritual that helps clear and revive energy centres completes the treatment. When you emerge from this unique experience, you’ll feel nourished from head to toe and be amazed by the softness of your skin.

Aurora Spa is the birth place and original Home of the ASPAR skincare range and the full product line is available at the spa boutique where you will be guided by skilled therapists in choosing the right products for your self-care rituals. The collection of 25 products was originally fashioned exclusively for Aurora Spa treatments, though after much demand, the range became available to the public and has garnered a loyal following ever since. Using a combination of age-old botanical wisdom and modern global technology, ASPAR ingredients are sourced with the highest therapeutic benefits in mind. The formulas of the retail range remain spa strength, just as they are in treatments, and have been created to deliver the maximum results for clients both in the spa and at home. The formulations feature botanically active extracts, are free from synthetic fragrances, colours, sulphates and parabens and are never tested on animals.

For the regular spa goer or as the ultimate gift for someone special, Aurora offers an exclusive Club Spa program to help you achieve and maintain balance and live a more relaxed, happy and stress-free life. A Club Spa membership gives you up to 12 treatments a year, a $350 supply of ASPAR products and further discounts on vouchers, products and treatments for your friends and family, all for $1599, a saving of $741. Treatments can be enjoyed monthly or seasonally.

The food

From 10am to 3pm, a healthy range of delicious food and cold-pressed juices is available to purchase, provided by Il Fornaio, a local restaurant and small-batch bread and pastry bakery. We suggest pre-ordering and enjoying post treatment, as some food items will take up to 20 minutes.

How to get there

Aurora Spa is located just a 15-minute drive from downtown Melbourne and is located on the first floor of The Prince Hotel in St Kilda. Tram numbers 3, 16 and 96 are a short 100m walk on Fitzroy Street. Entry is via The Prince Hotel reception or from level two of the hotel car park.

The Prince carpark charges $8 per hour to a maximum of $25. There is some free, all-day street parking available in the neighbouring streets, but be sure to arrive with plenty of time before your appointment and check the parking signs carefully.
