A 75-minute drive from Melbourne’s CBD, located in the Ballarat/Goldfields region, you will find this brand new, purpose-built facility located within the serene three and a half hectares of gardens of the Mercure Hotel and Convention Centre.

Ballarat’s Sanctuary Day Spa features six luxury treatment rooms including two dual suites, private bathing, a floating pedicure lounge, relaxation lounge with open fireplace and The Sanctuary with sauna and heated hydrotherapy pool.

The heated hydrotherapy pool was custom made with built in arm rests, foot massage and six individually controlled jets per person it can seat 11 people comfortably.

The treatments

Ballarat Day Spa offers all the traditional treatments you would expect from a day spa, with an extensive menu of “Shared Spa Therapies”. Treatments and packages can be shared with a friend, or loved one, in dual treatment suites with catering options including local produce platters.

Wellness Massage

Designed to relax your mind and body, ease nervous tension and stimulate blood flow. This full body massage combines gentle rhythmic motions with an aromatic hot oil infusion to encourage a heightened state of relaxation.

Thermal Muscle Relief

Alleviate muscular aches and pains and enhance detoxification with firmer massage strokes and a warming blend of Red Pepper, Camphor and Menthol. This is an Ideal pre and post physical activity treatment or for those who like a deeper style of massage. Remedial therapists are available upon request.

Pregnancy Massage

A gentle relaxation massage to ease areas of tension, improve circulation and alleviate back pain whilst promoting a state of calm and wellbeing for both you and your baby. Enjoy your massage in comfort with a specialised pregnancy mattress.

Hotstone Massage

A relaxing and restoring massage combining rhythmic massage strokes and warmed volcanic stones to release muscular tension and dissolve stress. A complete head to toe experience including face and scalp massage.

Signature Spa Journeys

All Signature Spa Journeys offered at Ballarat Day Spa are two hours in duration and can be performed in the dual treatment room for friends and couples. They also include 60-minute access to The Sanctuary beforehand and conclude with refreshments in the relaxation lounge. The signature Spa Therapies include:

Detox

Grounding Foot Bath, Dry Body Brush, Mud Mask Wrap, Scalp Massage, and Hot Stone Massage.

Nurture

Grounding Foot Bath, Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage, Petite Sensory Facial, and Hair and Scalp Treatment.

Invigorate

Sensory Journey, Body Exfoliation, Hair and Scalp Treatment, Bathing Ritual, Back, Neck & Shoulder massage.

Renew

Welcome Ritual, Full Body Massage and Sensory Facial. (Suitable for pregnancy)

The Spa also has a focus on skin with modalities such as LED, Microdermabrassion, Oxygen and peels for advanced results

Favoured among the healing products used at Ballarat Day Spa are the Thalgo and Linda Meredith ranges. The spa chooses Thalgo as it is a well-recognised and trusted by their regular clientele as they have been exposed to the product in Ballarat for 16 years. Thalgo also offers an extensive range of treatments and homecare which can be used to treat many different skin concerns.

The Ballarat Day Spa also uses luxury brand Linda Meredith as they are drawn to the brand’s different approach to treating the skin. The Linda Meredith brand offers a more nurturing approach to skincare, whilst still achieving the results our clients desire – making this brand a perfect fit.

The food

Complimentary refreshments include Tea Tonic herbal teas and fruit and nut mix served in the lounge post treatment. Additional refreshments include fresh juices and sparkling rose water.

Catering options are provided for groups which include produce boards from a local caterer as well as packages including a chefs lunch onsite at Billy’s Bistro.

Getting there

Ballarat Sanctuary Day Spa is a comfortable drive from Melbourne airport or CBD along the Western Freeway. Upon arrival there is plenty of free parking within the grounds of the Mercure Hotel.
