Orthostatic hypotension

Orthostatic hypotension is a condition where a person’s blood pressure drops dramatically when the person changes position from sitting to standing.

 Causes: excessive use of drugs (diuretics, vasodilators), dehydration, prolonged bed rest

Symptoms: dizziness, light-headedness, blurred vision and a temporary loss of consciousness.

Who to consult: GP, herbalist, homoeopath, naturopath, occupational therapist.
