Hayfever

Hay fever (allergic rhinitis) is essentially a seasonal allergy that is induced by exposure to plant and tree pollen. People that suffer from hay fever are exposed to various pollens throughout the course of the year, depending on their location. People that have hay fever are more likely to also experience other allergic syndromes such as asthma and eczema. Some people experience hay fever throughout the year and these people are thought to suffer from perennial rhinitis.

Symptoms: itchy and red eyes, watery discharge from the eyes and nose, fatigue, irritability, headache, congestion and sneezing.

Who to consult: Allergist, dietician, GP, herbalist, immunologist, naturopath, pharmacist.
