Risk factors: Helicobacter pylori infection, pernicious anaemia, lack of hydrochloric acid, high fat diet, diet high in smoked, salted or pickled foods, tobacco and alcohol use, chronic gastritis and stomach polyps.
Symptoms: Symptoms present in the late stage of the disease and include indigestion, stomach pain, bloating, vomiting after eating, vomiting blood (haemoptysis), black stools, anaemia, fatigue and unintentional weight loss.
