Yoga Practice

“Anyone who practices can obtain success in yoga but not one who is lazy. Constant practice alone is the secret of success”
Some yoga wisdom from Hatha Yoga Pradipika

I love/hate this kind of thinking.

I love it because it is refreshingly honest.

I hate it because I went and had a coffee instead of going to a yoga class this morning!

I wasn’t the coffee I wanted so much as the space.  Staring in to delicious nothingness in a public space where nobody knew me.  Delightful!

But I’ve decided to love myself, so I’ll forgive the laziness today.

BTW – a niggling bit of back pain might have contributed to the decision to stay away from class today – counterintuitive I know, because there is nothing quite like yoga for back pain!  If you know of anyone who suffers back pain here is a terrific testimony on how yoga can help.  Click here for “How Yoga Can Relieve Your Back Pain”

Restaurant reviewers find it easier to travel incognito, and so do I. I travel a lot for work and use this as an excuse check out yoga classes, yoga courses and yoga colleges around my home country, Australia. In this yoga blog, I refer to yoga centres in Sydney. I am not actually a yoga teacher, just a passionate yoga student.

I have practised yoga in the US and have done yoga courses in India but have no bias towards any yoga style. Actually, maybe I am biased to a yoga style, or at least certain methods of education applied in yoga courses, but I’ll leave it to you to find out what that is. My mission? I just want people to think a little deeper about yoga.
