“Meditation brings wisdom; lack of mediation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom”.
– Today’s yoga wisdom is from no other than the Buddha himself.
Back right-at-ya Buddha.
Feeling my body as a fuzzy wave form at my first Vipassna was pretty instrumental was pretty fundamental to my subsequent selection of yoga centres and study pathway. Although I’ve never quite managed the recommended 2 hours of meditation per day to maintain the path to wisdom, Vipassna was a great teacher.
I can only say that there is great peace in meditation. Some days, I need to get home and hit the cushion… it is so fundamental that seems better than couch, or alchohol, or exercise, or cooking or anything else. I just need a good sit.
So while I love these other things, meditation is something I always manage to come back to. Am I any wiser…? Well… meditation is one practice where I feel completely free of the need to measure (and I am a measurement junkie). Reckon there’s somethin’ in that.
So what are you waiting for don’t just DO something — Sit!
