Real Life Experience Contributor Guidelines

At WellBeing, we believe in the power of personal stories. Real Life Experience stories are first-person accounts of individuals who have navigated serious or chronic health challenges using natural approaches. Whether you’ve overcome an autoimmune condition, found relief from persistent pain, managed stress and anxiety, or transformed your wellbeing through holistic means, your journey can inspire and educate others seeking alternative paths to health.

Why share your story

Inspire Others: Your journey could be the guiding light for someone facing a similar challenge.

Raise Awareness: Help spread knowledge about holistic wellness.

Contribute to the WellBeing Community: Be part of a supportive space that values and celebrates natural health solutions.

What we’re looking for

  • Detail your personal health challenge and the natural approach you took to address it.
  • Provide insight into the methods that worked for you, including therapies, lifestyle changes, dietary shifts, or alternative treatments.
  • Offer a positive and constructive takeaway for readers.
  • Are engaging, well-written, and between 800-1500 words.

Submission guidelines

  • Your story must be original and unpublished.
  • Please include relevant details—but avoid making unsupported medical claims.
  • WellBeing reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity and style.
  • If selected, your story may be featured on our website, in our magazine, or on our social media platforms.

Copyright

A submission must be your own original, unpublished work. If it’s accepted for publication in WellBeing, you will be required to sign a Universal Media Co copyright agreement. Please email enquiries about copyright to our publisher Janice Williams.

Submission

If you’d like to blog for us, send the following to our team

  • Email your submission as a Word for Windows file.
  • Include a bio (120 words or less) with links to your website, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter accounts where relevant along with a headshot or photo of yourself to use if/when we publish your story online.
  • Submission of images is not essential but preferred (especially for travel articles). Label all images with a brief descriptive caption and the photographer’s name. Electronic images should be 300dpi JPEGs or TIFFs with a linear size of at least the size they will appear in the magazine.
  • We can’t guarantee when your article will be published. WellBeing has lengthy colour production lead times and many factors such as editorial balance and advertising volume affect the final story grid for any one issue.

When your article has been selected for a particular issue, we will send you a contract specifying terms and payment.
