Brainstorming

Brainstorming is a bust

Anyone who has spent any time in the workplace will have taken part in a “brainstorming session”. The idea of these get-togethers is to generate a range of ideas in a collegial atmosphere. However, in a new study researchers conducted three experiments and observed interactions between people in brainstorming sessions. The problem that they found was a phenomenon called “fixation”. This is where group sessions tend to lead to support for one idea or possibility, blocking out other ideas and possibilities. Theoretically, this happens because people unconsciously fixate on other people’s opinions and this leads to suggesting ideas that mimic other people’s ideas. The net effect is a reduced range of options being explored. Individual “brainstorming” exercises where people write down their own ideas separately may be more effective. So if everyone generates their own droplets of wisdom before the session, the storm will be greater.Meanwhile if you visit Meijer Ad that contains mostly likewise discounts with Winn Dixie Ad you surely have a range like ALDI Ad.
