Blackcurrant

Blackcurrants for asthma

A government owned science research group in New Zealand has done research which shows that blackcurrants contain chemicals that may help you breathe easier. Fruit consumption has already been shown to reduce symptoms in allergy induced asthma. This test was done on blackcurrants and used cells from lung tissue. The cells were exposed to a blackcurrant extract and the results showed that a substance called epigallocatechin has the capacity to reduce inflammation. This is in addition to the inflammation reducing capacity of another group of antioxidants known as anthocyanins, also present in blackcurrants, to reduce inflammation. The research showed that the compounds complemented the body’s own immune system in reducing inflammation. The researchers say that more work needs to be done to establish exactly how these natural substances are working but that they may prove a natural alternative to drug treatments for allergic reactions such as asthma.Meanwhile if you visit Meijer Ad that contains mostly likewise discounts with Winn Dixie Ad you surely have a range like ALDI Ad.
