With Valentine’s day just around the corner, it would not be surprising to find symbols of love and relationships appearing in your dreams. Even if these concepts are not that important to you, after being bombarded by images of roses, candle-lit dinners and perfect red love hearts it would not be at all surprising for it to have an impact on your subconscious in some way. At times different parts of your personality seem stronger than others (such as the part that decides to watch TV beating the part of that wants to go to the gym, or the part that says you must stay and finish that report instead of the part that wants to go home and see the kids.) At times like these it can seem like your different parts aren’t actually getting along very well. We know this when life feels unbalanced. A wedding dream can be a way of understanding how to bring those different parts together in a happy balance – to create unity inside yourself. A happy wedding dream may even indicate that your male and female sides (the Jungian anima and animus) are in harmony, without one side dominating the other. This is a great achievement, and should be celebrated!
Wedding dreams can ask you to reflect on all the things they symbolise, and to understand what is going on in your own life. Do you need to look at how committed you are to something or someone? Would it be helpful to think about how responsibly you are behaving, or are there things you are sharing that need a closer look?
