Influenza

Influenza (the flu) is a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract that affects the throat, nose, bronchi, lungs and middle ear. Influenza is spread easily by vapourising droplets of the virus by either coughing or sneezing. Influenza usually lasts for 12 days or longer and there can be residual fatigue and coughing.

Symptoms: body aches, cough, fatigue, dry throat, nausea, headache, vomiting, hot and cold sweats.

Who to consult: Dietician, GP, herbalist, homoeopath, naturopath, pharmacist, physiotherapist.
