Green scheme creates toxin

The idea of adding iron to the world’s oceans to help suck up atmospheric carbon dioxide has hit another snag. Researchers conducted iron fertilisation experiments in a site in the North Pacific and have found blooms of toxic plankton resulting. The plankton are producing increased levels of a neurotoxin known as domoic acid. This domoic acid accumulates in shellfish and is a neurotoxin to birds and mammals causing a condition called amnesic shellfish poisoning in humans. In the US blooms of plankton have frequently caused governments to shut down shellfish fisheries. Domoic acid has been blamed for sea lion deaths and possibly inducing frenzied behaviour in birds such as one instance that occurred in northern California in 1961 and which may have inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 film, “The Birds”. It seems that regarding iron fertilisation we need to be sure that the supposed solution does not create more problems.Meanwhile if you visit Meijer Ad that contains mostly likewise discounts with Winn Dixie Ad you surely have a range like ALDI Ad.
