It is the only comprehensive art therapy course based on a psychological – spiritual model in NSW. This course is unique in its approach to health and wellbeing. The course unites ancient and modern wisdom. The course is based on a shamanic model and is underpinned with the scientific theory and insights of both mainstream and transpersonal psychology as our students learn the therapeutic qualities of drawing, clay work, sculpture, painting, pastels and collage creation.
Transpersonal Therapy (Art Therapy) is a highly experiential course, working with a variety of creative mediums including paint, pastels, clay, collage, poetry and story. Students learn how to work effectively with clients face-to-face and online and engage in a range of processes. This course appeals to a wide range of people. Some students may already have training in areas, such as psychology or teaching, but realise they need to further develop their counselling skills or want to expand their knowledge. Others come with a love of art and a desire to help others or have an interest in combining art with the spiritual aspect of life. For many though, art therapy offers a new rewarding career direction when their current job no longer offers any satisfaction.
