Unless you have been hiding under a rock for the past few years, I am sure you have seen countless recipes for an amazing green smoothie. Maybe you have attempted to make them, maybe you think they are too much trouble. Let me assure you they are not – a green smoothie is quick and easy to make, is versatile and portable and the best solution for busy women. I am still amazed that some people refuse to try a green smoothie just because of the colour! I managed to convert all the boys in my house and they love them. But there are still some people who I am still trying to convince.
I adore my green smoothie. I have about 500mL of a green smoothie every morning for breakfast and, most days, a smaller portion in the afternoon as an afternoon snack.
I called this green smoothie “The Hulk” as it resembles the Hulk with the green colour.
As stated on marvel.com: “The Hulk possesses an incredible level of superhuman physical ability. The Hulk has shown a high resistance to physical damage and has superhuman endurance.” That describes my smoothie to a tee! The Hulk green smoothie is not only green but packs a very good punch as far as ingredients are concerned. Maybe you’ll get some super human powers too when drinking this green smoothie…

The Hulk green smoothie will definitely keep you full. It is packed full of good fats: omega-3 and omega-6 from the avocado, hemp seeds and almond butter; iron from the kale; vitamin C from the kiwi and lime. It is great as a breakfast or an post-workout meal as it is satisfying and full of protein, good carbs and fats essential for recovery. It also contains L-glutamine, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of the intestinal lining and supporting normal gut barrier function. L-glutamine is also essential for maintenance of muscle mass and prevention of muscle wastage.
I like the fact that I can make a big batch of this and have smoothies to last me 2-3 days (and, yes, it’s fine in the fridge for couple of days).
Enough of my ramblings about this gorgeous green smoothie, here is The Hulk in full glory:

Makes 3 x 500mL serves and a bit more
NOTES: You get the best results using a high powered blender. Place the ingredients in the blender in the order noted in the recipe. I try to use organic ingredients as much as I can, but just do the best you can.
