Saltair Day Spa is located a few minutes from the beachfront town of Torquay, 22km south of Geelong at the beginning of the Great Ocean Road. Although you are just moments from Torquay’s famous surf shops, you wouldn’t know it as you sit in the main relaxation lounge of Saltair, taking in the stunning views of Spring Creek Valley and blue ocean waters. Saltair is the region’s original destination day spa, situated in a coastal-rural setting but only a few minutes from Torquay, 15 minutes from Geelong and an easy one-hour drive from Melbourne’s West Gate Bridge.
The experience
Once you arrive at Saltair and make your way up the 300m driveway, taking in the outstanding vistas towards the Great Otway National Park, you soon realise this isn’t going to be an average day-spa experience. On your way towards the entrance, you pass four stunning water features, before being welcomed by exceptional therapists as you enter the main relaxation lounge that features a huge Romanian crystal chandelier, floor-to-ceiling mosaic tiles, floral arrangements, glass walls and soft music. Here, guests feel cosseted and embraced by luxury.
The Saltair experience embodies true relaxation, where guests receive specialised care and are indulged with the best natural products. There are two relaxation lounges, four dual treatment rooms, five single treatment rooms, a spray-tan room and change-room facilities. Throughout, Saltair Day Spa retains a boutique feel with Indigenous-themed wall hangings and centrepieces.
Indulge and heal
Saltair’s Signature massage is widely renowned and has placed the day spa at the top of TripAdvisor’s Spa & Wellness Australia category. Oil blends developed by Saltair are used and are named after ideals and beliefs of what a day spa should represent: “Inspire”, “Freedom” and “Signature”. These emphasise that Saltair is more than a place of business; rather, it’s an oasis of tranquillity that will transform and bring positive change.
The main spa product range is LI’TYA, which is derived from naturally sustainable and sourced Australian ingredients and used throughout Saltair’s menu. LI’TYA’s Kodo massage is an Indigenous-inspired rhythmic massage widely enjoyed by guests. Saltair is one of the oldest LI’TYA day spas in the country and has received multiple LI’TYA Spirit of Spa awards.
Products from Australian spa company Heritage Healers are also offered in facial treatments, combining medical-grade oxygen gas with personalised Australian wild flower essences (derived from Western Australia).
Globally renowned and multi-awarded skincare company Nimue is used for all derma-cosmeceutical facial treatments, incorporating collagen needling and advanced peels. Nimue is known for its combination of natural acids that are results-driven.
For hair removal, Alexandria Professionals sugaring is used, the next generation in the removal of body hair. It utilises no chemicals or heat and has a philosophy of healing the skin during the hair-removal process.
