Framed by rugged mountains and set across 500 acres of beautiful Central Otago countryside, Millbrook Resort is a unique New Zealand spa destination. With an uplifting landscape of green fairways, gentle streams, rolling hills and the rustic remains of old stone barns, horse-drawn carts and wagon wheels, Millbrook is set amongst a backdrop that cannot be recreated. It is this combination of award-winning spa treatments and jaw-dropping scenery that makes Millbrook Resort a truly unique experience that continues to fulfil local and visitor expectations alike.
The experience
A mere 20-minute drive from Queenstown, and two minutes from historic Arrowtown, Millbrook Resort is conveniently close to everything one needs yet feels like a world away. Queenstown itself is renowned as the adventure capital of the world, although the region is equally famous for its award-winning wines and beautiful eateries.
Indulge and heal
Millbrook’s signature Spa offers a range of restorative treatments to help guests achieve optimum levels of health and ultimate relaxation.
With 10 treatment rooms and a team of highly skilled therapists, The Spa at Millbrook has something to suit all ages. The team strive to create a welcoming and tranquil space and understand the importance of consistency and professionalism to ensure their services not only meet your expectations, but exceed them.

As part of this service, Millbrook incorporates Elemis products into its treatments. Elemis utilises powerful marine and plant actives in intricate blends with aromatics, to create beautiful natural products with proven transformative results. Spa manager, Michelle Batchelor, says the team “believe strongly in the benefits of Elemis products” and are proud that Elemis plays such a central role in all treatments.
As Millbrook is a popular accommodation and wedding venue in the region, as well as one of New Zealand’s premier golfing destinations, an interesting mix of treatments makes up part of the daily services at The Spa to accommodate a whole range of guests.
The Spa at Millbrook is one of only a handful of spas in New Zealand to offer Vichy treatments, where you essentially shower lying down to experience a lovely cascade of water. Utilising a stunning, exotic 150-year-old acacia wood table, this treatment is considered by many the ultimate in spa treatments.
As well as a Health & Fitness Centre, indoor swimming pool and outdoor hot spas, there is also a 27-hole golf course available for all guests to use. You can make a trip to Millbrook for a half- or full-day experience. Recently named New Zealand’s Leading Spa Resort for the fourth consecutive year in the World Travel Awards, a visit to The Spa at Millbrook is definitely an experience you won’t find elsewhere.
On the menu
While at Millbrook, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy food and refreshments, with three dining venues on-site offering casual cafe meals through to contemporary cuisine.
The Millhouse Restaurant still holds the original wall from the old mill house, which operated when the resort was a wheat farm during the gold rush era. The Japanese restaurant, Kobe Cuisine, offers a magnificent view of Lake Hayes and the Hole in One Cafe provides the perfect viewing platform to the Coronet 9 and Coronet Peak.
Offering everything from freshly baked muffins and pastries to great coffee, fresh salmon, sashimi, dumplings and yakitori, each restaurant offers something different and is open daily for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Getting there
Complimentary shuttle services are available from Queenstown or Arrowtown, so guests can hop on a shuttle and begin to relax right from the start of their Millbrook experience, as the shuttle guides you safely along a stunning scenic rural path to Millbrook Resort. You can also drive the 20-minute trip from Queenstown, or two minutes from the quaint neighbouring village of Arrowtown.
Things to remember
As more direct flights to Australia are introduced every year, Queenstown’s popularity as a holiday destination continues to grow. Therefore, special accommodation and resort credit packages are extremely popular for those looking to get away for a long weekend and revive.
