Bathe your way to wellness

Hepburn Springs

There’s something magical about bathing in mineral-rich waters drawn directly from their natural source. It’s a healing, restorative, and luxurious process that ensures you leave the experience feeling truly well. Indulge in this ancient tradition at Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa, a sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation located in the celebrated spa capital of Australia — Hepburn Springs.

Step foot on the grounds of Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa and you’ll begin to feel at ease. “We are located within the Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve where the mineral waters flow,” Kate Burgess, Marketing Manager at Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa, says. “There are taps available to try the mineral water, and multiple walking paths through the gorgeous deciduous trees.”

This wellness playground features a delight around every corner, with meandering trails, patches of grass that are perfect for picnicking, and the peaceful sounds of native birdlife, from the pied currawong to the kookaburra. The property is abundant with natural beauty — and that’s before you even set foot inside the iconic bathhouse.

An ancient ritual

A mineral wellness experience at the Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa is the ultimate in luxury. Enjoy the healing powers of mineral water drawn directly from the natural source in this historic building that has been established since 1895.

Guests to Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa can choose from three different bathing experiences. Enjoy bathhouse mineral bathing in one of two social indoor bathing areas, and ease your muscle tension, relax your joints and improve your wellbeing. This is perfect for individuals, groups and families who wish to feel well together.

Sanctuary mineral bathing is an experience like no other. This is one of the retreat’s most popular offerings and incorporates a serene creek-side mineral bathing pool, where you can enjoy the tranquil beauty of the reserve while enjoying all the benefits mineral bathing has to offer. This experience also includes access to the aroma steam room, spa couches, a salt and magnesium pool, walk-in cool-down pool and mineral hammam, combining heat, steam and mineral properties to rejuvenate your body and sense of wellbeing. This experience is for guests aged over 16 only.

For those looking for a more secluded experience, private mineral bathing is also on offer. Enjoy tranquillity and the healing powers of mineral-rich bathing in your own generously sized bathtub, perfectly sized to accommodate two if required. One of four bath blends will elevate your experience, allowing you to truly feel pampered. Choose from a mineral milk bath, thermal mineral mud bath, magnesium mud bath or wellness mineral bath and succumb
to relaxation.

Yet once you’ve had your fill of mineral bathing, the relaxation doesn’t end. Pamper yourself at the spa, where a range of services are on offer. “We have a large spa menu offering massage, facials, body treatments and a social spa where you can enjoy a treatment with friends,” Kate says. Self-guided steam therapies are also on offer.

The retreat experience

There is simply no better way to enjoy the bathhouse and spa than by staying on site. This allows you to completely immerse yourself in all things wellness and leaves you feeling refreshed and relaxed.

“We have 24 luxury villas that are available overlooking the beautiful bushlands,” Kate says. “Each villa has their own private spa bath, king-size bed, private balcony and much more.”

Yet perhaps the most tempting accommodation option is to be found at the wellness villas. “These have been designed with wellness in mind and have touchpoints all throughout the room,” Kate says. “The spa has an array of bath salts and tonics, and there are yoga mats and blocks, meditation apps, a wellness concierge, a Dyson air purifier, and your choice of aromatherapy oil.”

For those travelling with a friend or two, the Mineral Springs Penthouse is another appealing option, which includes two large bedrooms with king bed and twin beds, a private steam room, full chef’s kitchen, extra-large balcony, wine fridge and gas and log fire, as well as a private spa bath, large lounge room, full laundry and a BBQ.
For those seeking a bite to eat, the Hepburn Pavilion Café has a range of enticing options including Devonshire tea, lunch bites such as quiches, sausage rolls and pies, and some snacks. Coffee, tea and Hepburn juices are also on offer.
