One of the highlights of any vacation is the hotel itself. Luxury bedrooms are of course high on our priorities list — but if you’re travelling for relaxation, a beautiful bathroom is a must-have too. We’ve rounded up 13 of the best luxury bathrooms from hotels and resorts around the world for your vacation inspiration.
AUBERGERE du SOLEIL
Luxury could be defined as enjoying unparalleled indulgence while revelling in the true beauty of nature. Guests at the Aubergere du Soleil can experience such magic when they rent out one of the two-bedroom, two-bathroom freestanding private maisons in the heart of the Napa Valley, California.
Here, guests can enjoy a rustic yet elegant decor as they lounge about in the king-size bed or warm their toes by the fire — but it’s the bathrooms we truly covet. As well as a generously appointed en suite, the maisons feature a trellised terrace with an outdoor sculpted tub and rain shower that both allow the guest to enjoy uninterrupted valley views. It doesn’t get much more relaxing than that. aubergereresorts.com
ROUNDHILL HOTEL AND VILLAS
Some vacation destinations are like a home away from home. That’s certainly the case with the Round Hill Hotel and Villas, where spacious villas offer guests a sense of unparalleled privacy that makes you feel as if you’re visiting your own holiday house.
That is, provided your holiday house comes with its own dedicated staff to help maintain it and whip you up a gourmet breakfast in the morning. And, of course, if your holiday house has this stunning outdoor bathroom that feels like it belongs in a day spa.
Yes, Round Hill is like a little slice of luxury with a timelessly elegant finish. Located in Montego Bay, Jamaica, this bathroom is one of our favourites due to its location and combination of resort styling with old-world elegance. roundhill.com
Nihi SUMBA
Perched high above the Indian Ocean on Sumba island in Indonesia is a balcony with a private bath offering you endless aquamarine views. The metallic look to the bath feels intrinsic to the balcony’s design — almost as if the bath has been there as long as the hills behind it. Above, the thatched roof rustles in the breeze, making you feel as if you truly are at one with nature when you stay at Nihi SUMBA.
This resort is known for its rugged brand of luxury, where guests can explore the wilderness and connect with themselves without feeling as if they are going without. The resort itself also has a focus on ecological sustainability, which is just another reason we love this beautiful bathroom. nihi.com
NAY PALAY HIDEAWAY
Barefoot luxury is at its finest at the Nay Palay Hideaway. This resort was recently rebuilt following its complete destruction after Typhoon Odette yet, as per in the past, every consideration has been made to ensure the resort is constructed as sustainably as possible, using locally sourced materials whenever possible.
The new bathrooms at the Nay Palay Hideaway were yet to be unveiled when we went to print — but if they’re anything like the old ones, we’re sure guests won’t be disappointed. Here, a rain showerhead was cleverly concealed in the ceiling. Given the stone and bamboo surrounds, you could be forgiven for forgetting you were in a bathroom and thinking that you’d perhaps wondered into a gentle sun shower in the forest instead.

THE SILO HOTEL
Art, style and design marry together at the Silo Hotel in Cape Town. This converted silo has become an architectural celebration with its renowned shimmering pillowed-glass windows that offer guests views stretching from Table Mountain to the Table Bay Harbour.
The bathrooms here are the perfect juxtaposition of contemporary and classic elements. The bold lines of the window make no apologies for their presence — in fact, they draw the eye to the view below. Softening this hero is a romantic freestanding bath with classically elegant fixtures that are duplicated on the vanity behind it. Arched mirrors and a decadent pendant complete the look and make this space a study of spectacular style.

A stay in the Ocean Front Pool Villa at Six Senses Samui is a truly sensual delight. Step down into the generous bathtub and soak your troubles away next to the expansive window offering views of the trees and the ocean beyond.
The considered materials used in this room make it feel like a natural extension of its surrounds. The large-format floor tiles feel as organic as the sandy shores of the beach below, with the pendant over the bath offering a filtered golden glow reminiscent of sunlight dappled through the trees.

AMAN TOKYO
High above the hustle and bustle of Tokyo is the Premier Room in Aman, a luxury hotel that defies the busy streets below with an oasis of calm. This hotel boasts a serene atmosphere with cosmopolitan needs — but it’s the bathrooms that have caught our eye.
The Premier Room boasts an expansive bathroom which is cleverly styled to maximise the sense of space. The floor and wall tiles are all a calming urban grey, and they emphasise the height of the room.
Every detail has been considered in this space. The bath is a deep-soaking furo tub, designed to promote the ritual of bathing. Positioned next to a generous window that overlooks the Tokyo city skyline, it’s the perfect place to sit and soak all your stresses away. aman.com
CONSERVATORIUM HOTEL
A sense of history is steeped into the bones of the Conservatorium Hotel, particularly in the I Love Amsterdam suite. Here, original hardwood beams create architectural interest while honouring the building’s past, resulting in a bathroom that is interesting and sustainably produced.
The travertine in the stone bathrooms — yes, that’s a plural, this suite boasts two of them — creates a sense of warm, understated elegance. Step inside the rainfall shower and wash a day of travel away or, if you prefer, you can sink your toes into the oversized bathtub, complete with a view of the Rijksmuseum below. conservatoriumhotel.com
andBeyond BENGUERRA ISLAND
A successful resort bathroom doesn’t have to be limited to just one design style. This is evident in the stunning bathroom of the Casa Familia villa at andBeyond Benguerra Island in Mozambique.
Here, a romantic four-poster bed is positioned near a freestanding bath with classical fixtures, setting a tone of historical indulgence. Above these features, however, is a roof that has a true island holiday aesthetic. This pairing not only works but thrives, creating a bathroom that feels relaxed yet luxurious all at the same time. andbeyond.com
ATLANTIS THE PALM
Some beautiful bathrooms need no explanation — and the one in the Underwater Suite at Atlantis The Palm is one such destination. Here, the bathroom features a marble bathtub in a generously sized space with twin sinks behind it, a small dressing table complete with oversized lounge chair nestled to one side and a pendant light overhead that sets the scene for romance.
Oh! There is one other feature that makes this space special, we suppose.
Yes, as the name suggests, this bathroom is a part of an underwater suite. Positioned by the bath is a window that allows you to look inside another world and glimpse some of the 65,000 marine animals in the aquarium at Dubai as they explore their natural habitat. This is a bathroom to remember. atlantis.com
COQUI COQUI
This renowned perfumery also boasts accommodation in its residences and spa portfolio. There are several different destinations for guests to choose from, but the bathroom that caught our eye is found at Merida’s L’Epicerie.
This bathroom is a wealth of luxury. Two clawfoot baths sit side by side in a space large enough to dance in. A magnificent chandelier casts the room in a golden glow, with elegant fixtures and details such as the mirrors and candelabra all adding to the sense of old-world grandeur. Add in the patterned tiles and the luscious heavy drapes, and you have a bathroom that could set the stage for any grand love story. This is extravagant romance at its finest. coquicoqui.com
