Our friends at Organic Merchant believe the ritual of taking a bath can be a restorative, healing practice. Baths are an essential part of a self-care and wellness routine and can be especially enhanced when you combine traditional bath minerals with organic herbal ingredients like organic rose petals.
Homemade Bath Recipe with Oats & Rose Petals
- Organic oats, rolled or instant
- Epsom salts
- Dried rose petals (buy them online at organicmerchant.com.au)
- Storage container (preferably glass)
- Muslin drawstring bag
- Layer the oats, Epsom salts and dried rose petals in a glass jar in equal amounts. Cap tightly and store until you are ready to use.
- To use, measure 3-4 tbsp of bath salts and place into a muslin drawstring bag.
- Place the bag in your bath as you fill it with warm water.
- Relax in the bath for 30-40 minutes.
- When you’re ready to get out, pat the skin dry (don’t rub) so your skin doesn’t lose its moisture.
Homemade Rose Bath Soak
- 2 cups Epsom salts
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 8-10 drops relaxing essential oil of choice
- ½ cup dried rose petals (buy them online at organicmerchant.com.au)
- In a glass bowl, add Epsom salts and olive oil and stir until thoroughly mixed.
- Add the rose petals to the oil and salt mixture. Stir until thoroughly combined.
- Add 8-10 drops of your desired essential oil and incorporate it thoroughly into the mixture.
- Store your rose bath salts in a sealed glass container.
- To use, add 3-4 tbsp to your bath and soak for 15-20 mins.
- You can also use this as a scrub on hands and feet to remove dry skin.
