Colossal cola drinkers

Researchers carried out a review of cases of patients suffering symptoms ranging from mild muscle weakness to profound muscle paralysis. One case cited was of an Australian ostrich farmer who returned from the outback complaining of muscle weakness. It turned out he had been drinking four litres of cola every day for three years and this went up to 10 litres a day when he was in the outback. Other cases included two pregnant women who were consuming three and four litres of cola a day respectively. The problem with cola for muscles is it contains caffeine, glucose and fructose, all of which flush potassium out of the body. Potassium is an essential mineral for muscle function. There may be a need for warnings to keep your cola intake below two litres a day, say the researchers. Perhaps in the same vein a “don’t lick the stove when it’s hot” campaign should also be considered.Meanwhile if you visit Meijer Ad that contains mostly likewise discounts with Winn Dixie Ad you surely have a range like ALDI Ad.
